329 Sometimes They Think We're Sisters

At one time or another Alison and Cheryl have been referred to as my sisters. This is rather interesting since I grew up in Wisconsin with two brothers. Alison (left) is an only child who grew up in Eastern Pennsylvania, and Cheryl (center), who grew up in Syracuse, is the only one of us that actually has a sister. It is rare that the three of us are in the same place at the same time since Cheryl lives in Syracuse and I see her two or three times a year. Today Cheryl and I dropped by Alison at work just to take this picture.

Both Alison and Cheryl are dear friends of mine and they are also the mothers of Sam and Sofie.

P.S. Thank you Sam, for pushing the button to take this picture.

328 Hidey-Hole

" In the hidey-hole under the hedge behind my house I hiked my skirt, and hugged my knees.
Each bony knob fit in the cup of one palm,
and my chin fit between them."

323 Summer Feet

I have always loved going barefoot. Growing up the shoes went off as soon as the weather got warm in May but Grandma Falkner had a rule for me. I could barefoot when the temperature was above 70 for 7 days in a row.

320 Red Wine

What do pastors do at the end of a long afternoon on retreat. Well, in Easton we have a little happy hour.
It did taste good. Thank you, Bruce!

319 New Bathroom

Odd, I suppose, to have a picture of a bathroom. But it is the new one in the basement and the plumber just finished hooking everything up. It is a small room, and I am proud of the tile work I did. A mirror, shelf, and towel bar and the room will be complete.

314 The New Computer

Rich relented and turned to the Mac side. His PC gave him the blue screen of death too many times and today he got the new computer. File transfers follows and he is up and running.

313 Coal Bin Chaos

So now that the basement is finished, where do we put the "stuff?" I'm talking about stuff like the power tools and other assorted things we don't use everyday. It is supposed to live in the coal bin. At least it will once the shelves are all set up. I'm looking forward to the day when the stuff comes off the back deck and finds its home in the coal bin.

309 Dying and Rising

"3Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4Therefore we have been buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
5For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his." Romans 6:3-5

305 Pop Quiz

I was asked to lead introductions for the synod's youth trip to Tanzania next year. Each person had to give their name, school, church then pop the balloon and answer the question inside. POW!!!

304 Tonight on the Table

Stuff just gets put there and usually moved before dinner. It never goes away, though. Just moved from place to place.
